Much sought after for her portrayal of the Queen of the Night, Anna Vikre has appeared in Die Zauberflöte in Mexico City at Bellas Artes (televised live throughout South America), Florida Grand Opera, Opera Columbus, Connecticut Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Opera Memphis, Opera Pacific, Nashville Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and Stadttheater Geißen among others. She made her debut with Orlando Opera as Norina in Don Pasquale, a role she has also performed with Utah Festival Opera, Lake George Opera and in D_sseldorf at Deutche Oper am Rhein. Other Donizetti performances include the title role of Marie in La fille du Regiment with Michigan Opera Theater and Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore with Dayton Opera. Ms. Vikre has also performed Adele in Die Fledermaus with Connecticut Opera, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Memphis as well as Salamanca, Spain and Aix en Provence, France, Madam Goldentrill in The Impressario with Lake George, Melissa in Handel’s Amadigi with the Caramoor Festival, and Violetta in La Traviata with the Miami Symphony and with Sacramento Opera. Other notable roles in her repertoire include as Aminta in Die Schweigsame Frau, which she performed for Long Beach Opera the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor for Opera Memphis and for Des Moines Metro Opera.
Concert appearances in Asia include highlights from La Traviata, Rigoletto and Candide at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, as well as concerts at the opening concert of the Shenyung Opera House in China. At the Hanoi Opera House, Ms. Vikre performed highlights from Cosi fan tutte singing Fiordiligi in a concert televised live throughout Vietnam. In the United States, Ms. Vikre performed Operetta selections with the Little Orchestra Society at Alice Tully Hall. With Connecticut Opera’s concert in the park, she performed selections from Lucia di Lammermoor, Lakme, and Mignon.
Ms. Vikre studied Drama at Sacramento State University in California, and is the winner of many competitions including the Palm Beach Opera Competition, Birmingham Opera Competition, Boca Raton Voice Competition, and Florida Grand Opera’s Young Patroness of Opera Competition. She was also chosen as a National Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and has received two Support Grants from the Metropolitan Opera Educational Fund.. Ms. Vikre received further training as an apprentice with the Florida Grand Opera as well as the Pittsburgh Opera.
