Adam Laurence Herskowitz

Wagnerian tenor, Adam Laurence Herskowitz, returns to the Metropolitan Opera for the second consecutive season in 2010-2011. Adam will sing the FIRST ARMED MAN and cover the role of FROH. Adam will also be seen in Fanciulla, Boccanegra and Ariadne. He has been asked to join the MET on tour in Japan. In the 2009-2010 season, Adam sang the Captain in Boccanegra starring Placido Domingo and the Messenger in Aida, broadcast world wide in HD in movie theaters. The Livingston New Jersey native recently switched from baritone to tenor under the guidance of his teacher and mentor, MET artist, Anthony Laciura. After only six months as a tenor, Mr. Herskowitz was a district winner of the Metropolitan Opera Competition as well as the prestigious Gerda Lissner Competition. As a baritone, Mr. Herskowitz was a Liederkranz Competition winner, a finalist in the Chester Ludgin Verdi Baritone Competition and a winner of the Eastern Regions Metropolitan Opera National Competition. Mr. Herskowitz has a degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois and a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
